Chapter 1 - Familiar

"So hot!" I yelled as I plopped myself under a big, old, oak tree. "Ah, jongmallo! Why my ribbon? Now, I can't tie my hair up and I'm sweating like crazy." I fan myself with my notebook, but it didn't help much.

Giving up, I put my head down to enjoy the little breeze until I felt something cold touch my arm. "Ahh!" I jumped and saw a guy with a ginger hair holding a bottle of water in front of my face. I looked up to look at him and he smiled, "Annyeong! Here water."

Why so familiar? "Ah. Kamsahamnida."

"No, no. You can talk to me informally." He waved his hand in time with the shake of his head. "Besides you're a senior and I'm just a junior."

"Oh." Dumbfounded, I just took back what I sad. "Ok. Komawo."

"Much better."

Talking to Injoon wasn't that bad. Most of the things he talked about were interesting and I only needed to block him out a few times. He's a funny and a cute dongsaeng. I really like him, I think we're going to be good friends even though I'm not the kind who talks a lot. He makes up for it.

"Yah, noona!" I blinked and focused on Injoon's chubby cheeks. I'm really tempted to pinch it. "You're not listening to me..." He pouted.

"Huh? What are you talking about? I was."

"What did I say?"

I worked my brain to think of what possible things he said, but he's much faster to catch on. "You weren't listening. Anyways, I asked you what kind of club you want to join in. Do you any ideas or do you want me to recommend something?"

"You're going to tell me what to join in anyway." I smiled. "Shoot. What do you suggest I join in. Besides I don't have any idea what kind of clubs there are."

"Really?" I raised my eyebrows at Injoon right after I read what the paper on the door said. "The vocal music club." I faced him, folding my arms on my chest in the process.

"What?" He giggled. "It's a fun club. You don't even have to know how to sing or anything. Joining it will be just fine."

"Aigoo. Fine." It's not that I don't anything about music. "Kaja." He opened the door, to my surprise I only saw four people inside. The one with a dirty blonde hair was dancing, popping, and grooving to the music coming from the small cd player in the corner. The guy who has a dark brown hair watching him intently and later on joined in matching the other's moves. The one with black hair was sitting on a chair reading something. The last guy with a bright blonde hair was in the corner humming to something melodious and calming.

"Guess what?" Injoon burst out saying that all four looked at our direction."We have a new member." He placed his hand on my back and gave me a push forward. I looked back at him, but the guy in the corner caught my eyes instead.

I stood there, staring at him. His gray eyes looks menacing yet... sad. My heart reacted to it like it haven't to anything else. He was looking at me confused, trying to work something out in his head like what I was doing right at that moment. I was going to say something, but Injoon interrupted.

"Yah, noona. Gwenchana?" Worry was evident on his face that quickly seized when I told him that I'm fine. I looked back at the blonde haired guy again, but I saw him looking down.

---------------------------------------------

Why am I feeling like this? I feel like I've met her before. As soon as he saw her, his insides, his being, all of him, wanted to stand up on the chair and go to her and take her in his arms. He had tried to fight those urges so hard his head hurts. He rubbed his temples trying to ease the pain... Rather the feelings he was experiencing then.

"Yah." His voice erupted and the people in the room looked at him. She's looking at him. He stopped himself to lock his eyes on her again to who-knows-what's going to happen. "Jay, turned the music off. It's making my head hurts."

"But, hyung." He protested. "I need to practice for the showca-"

"I said turn it off." Hyunmin said coldly. The guy with the name Jay obeyed, his face plastered with a frown.

"What's wrong with him?" He heard her ask Injoon which Injoon replied to, "He's always like that. You'll get used to him."

"Yeah. Don't mind him." Mika said. "He still needs to figure LOTS of things out."

He definitely knows something.

---------------------------------------------

"He's so rude!" I exclaimed and Injoon started laughing. "Yah. Why are you laughing? It's true."

"I know he is. But after you get to know him, he's not that bad. He's actually the one who fools around a lot from the five of us."

"Nah-uh! I won't believe you ever!" We were walking home now. We both found out that we're neighbors and coincidentally our houses were right next to each other. How lucky was that? First friend in a new town and we live right next to each other.

"See you tomorrow, noona!" Injoon waved as he walked towards their house. I walked inside and went straight up my room. Today was very tiring and hot that I felt gross. I want to take a shower, but my bed was very inviting and I threw myself on it. "Hmmm." I groaned.

I tried to fight sleep, but it had more power over me. My lids were closing, my body relaxing, and my mind organizing itself. The last thing I remember was his beautifully sad, gray eyes.
